Venture Camp: Backpacking is a 9-day program led by trip leaders from Outdoor Adventures who will guide incoming Aggies through the beautiful Gila Wilderness in New Mexico. Venture Camp: Backpacking is open to all incoming students and is the newest extended orientation program to be offered out of the Departments of Student Activities and Recreational Sports.Base Camp is sure to provide you with many fun and exciting activities including camping, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, team building activities, and so much more.

Venture Camp: Base Camp is open to all incoming students and is the premiere outdoor extended orientation experience that takes place both on the Texas A&M main campus and in the Texas Hill Country.

Venture Camps offers opportunities to jump start your college career at Texas A&M by sharing in exciting adventures with fellow new Aggies. Note: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Venture: Base Camp and Venture: Backpack programs will not be held as originally scheduled for July and August 2020.
